Каталог в Интернете постоянно обновляется: добавляется новая и удаляется старая информация о сайтах.

Классификация каталогов

Каталог – это сайт или его страница с иерархически распределенной информацией. В основном распределяются сведения тематически, но можно группировать в алфавитном порядке, по индексу цитирования, дате регистрации и т.д. У каждой поисковой системы есть свой собственный каталог, вебмастер может даже самостоятельно внести свой сайт в такой каталог, поисковый робот быстро найдет и проиндексирует его. В каталогах Яндекса сайты выстраиваются по порядку в зависимости от тИЦа или PR.

В последнее время каталогов становится все больше и больше, что не могло не сказаться на качестве некоторых из них. Но если поместить сайт в каталог, то можно получить ссылку, и чем популярнее каталог, тем интереснее оптимизатору получить ссылку с него.

Каталоги подразделяются на:

1) общие,

2) тематические,

3) специализированные. 

Некоторые из них настолько популярны, что известны во всем мире. Самый известный глобальный каталог – это ДМОЗ(DMOZ), появившийся еще в 1998г. У ДМОЗа для каждого языка своя база; чтобы попасть туда, надо отправить особую заявку, которая после долгого рассмотрения может быть одобрена и сайт будет занесен в базу.
